This week brought the russet color of the Carolina wren to my stitch journal. They're back! Singing enthusiastically and hanging out by the nest box in the backyard. (You can see it in the background in the first photo, a little bit right of center.) I hope they will stick around and raise a family or two, as they have for several summers now.
I also saw the first dandelion of the year yesterday, when I took Snickers out for a backyard walk. So today I stitched yellow, ending the month on a bright note.
