The fourth month of the project has begun and so far has been somewhat surprising. We've had snow—twice! I began by pinning a scrap of walnut-dyed linen to the main piece, folded to recall the hills that surround me in this valley. I think it will function as a kind of horizon line or anchor for this month's composition.
Right now, until the trees leaf out, I can still see much of the Holyoke Range to the south. Soon those silent blue presences will disappear from view, until next fall.
