Ravellenic Games Progress

This morning Snickers inspected my latest effort in the Swatching Coxswain event for the Ravellenic Games:

Lattice Lace Swatch
Stitch Pattern: Lattice Lace (April 12 from 365 Knitting Stitches a Year Perpetual Calendar)
Yarn: Quince and Co. Tern, 75 percent wool; 25 percent silk, in the Seagrass colorway
Needles: US4 for the first two repeats and US3 for the last three

I like using this yellow towel (woven by my sister Jenny) for blocking small items. Its gridlines make it easy to keep edges straight. This swatch is wider at the bottom than the top because I changed the needle size partway through—I wanted to see the difference that would make in the look of the lace. I think I prefer the firmer fabric produced with the smaller needle, but I'll decide when the swatch is dry.

I need to swatch at least two more stitch patterns to reach the finish line for this event. But I have plans for quite a few more than that!

How's your Ravellenic Games knitting or spinning or crocheting going?

I like that swatch a lot, Bonnie. The texture and color just seem a perfect pair. And I enjoyed seeing that towel. That was one of my favorite designs (I didn't keep any of those) and your photo made me think I should revisit it!

My Ravellenics project is not nearly as complex as yours Bonnie, being comprised mostly of stockinette stitch and already unravelled three times. But it has a sort of quirky prelude. It's a tank top originally published in a 1980s Vogue Knitting. I've always wanted to make it but it took a challenge like Ravellenics to get me started - 25 years later. Lucky I can still get away with tank tops.
