Socktoberfest, Day 22

Mom's anklets are coming along. Here's sock number two, shown with some embroidery in progress (Rebecca Ringquist's 2010 Stitch Dictionary Sampler).

Sock and Sampler
Pattern: Bamboo Lace Socks by Lara Teter
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Solemate in the Magnificent Mile colorway
Needles: US 1/2.25mm

Embroidery was my craft of choice this week while I had some new windows installed. It was easiest to "keep calm and carry on" with needle and thread than with knitting while all the drilling and hammering was going on. No place in a chart to keep track of, no stitches to drop.

Day of the Dead Bag

I finished up this Day of the Dead project bag for a very kind friend at work who recently gave me Kristin Nicholas's Colorful Stitchery as well as some Sublime Stitching Day of the Dead designs.

She doesn't embroider but she knits lots of mitts and socks, so I thought a small project bag in her favorite colors (orange and green) would be a good thank-you gift.

Just a reminder: Today's the last day of the yarn/pattern/beads giveaway. Leave a comment by midnight tonight on this post for a chance to win.

Those of you who guessed Mount Pollux for the photo shoot were correct. The other mountain? It's Mount Norwottuck, the highest peak in the Holyoke Range.
