What better way to take the "blah" out of "winter blahs" than a project with colors that say summer? I'm calling this new felted bag Zinnia because it uses colors that remind me of zinnias.
The pattern is available on Ravelry and in the patterns section of my Etsy shop. It includes instructions for knitting and felting the bag and for making a lining.
I just love zinnias. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is pick zinnias, cosmos, and other flowers in the "pick your own" fields at the Brookfield Farm in Amherst. Mass.

I'm really happy with how it turned out--the size is just right, and so is the length of the strap. It doesn't need to be lined, but since I wanted a pocket for small stuff like lip gloss and keys, I sewed a lining with cranberry-colored cotton.

Many, many thanks to my sister Jackie who modeled the bag and allowed me to use her dining room for the photo shoot! So now I've managed to have two of my sisters modeling things on the blog. That leaves only Jenny, who unfortunately is half across the country. But we'll see, there may be an opportunity later this year, when her daughter Anna gets married. Watch out, Jenny!

Hmm, I may have to carry my invisibility cloak with me at all times ...

That's a great bag! I'm very much in a happy color mood of late, and that bag makes me smile. Great shape, classic and shows off the yarn.
